About PomoDash

What is this app?

PomoDash is a free, distraction-free productivity timer built around the Pomodoro Technique. It runs entirely in your browser — no sign-up, no account, no data sent to any server. Your session history and settings are stored only in your browser's local storage.

The Pomodoro Technique

Developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s, the Pomodoro Technique is a time management method that breaks work into focused intervals (traditionally 25 minutes) separated by short breaks. The name comes from the tomato-shaped kitchen timer Cirillo used as a student.

The basic cycle:

  1. Choose a task to work on.
  2. Set the timer for 25 minutes and focus deeply.
  3. Take a 5-minute short break when the timer rings.
  4. After 4 cycles, take a longer 15–30 minute break.
  5. Repeat.

Research suggests that working in short, focused bursts with intentional breaks reduces mental fatigue, improves concentration, and makes large tasks feel more manageable.
